Deadwood Draft

With it all but being officially confirmed for a Deadwood draft the weekend of August 24-27, time to start narrowing in on a place.  Lucas said he’d be in to tag along and Quincy also has expressed interest.  He wants to be there when “You guys kick those guys out for missing the draft”, because apparently there’s no difference between a work excused absence and skipping for go carts.  

 

Tentative plan for now is to rendevous in Bismarck, for those who would go that route, around noonish on Thursday.  This would put our arrival between 4-6 PM as I believe they are mountain time, but not 100% sure.  Plenty of time to develop a game plan for the weekend. A few housing options:

11 minutes from Main St via taxi.  Central “Clubhouse” and public automatically move this one down the list.  

 

2. Snowy Bluff Cabin – $1217

25 minutes from Main St, meaning likely no taxi service in and out of town.  Hot tub, game room including pool table and fooseball with potential for endless betting scenarios.  

3.  Cabin Jak’s Lodge – $1289

10 minutes from Main St via taxi.  In the same development as Alpine so Clubhouse is in play again.  This one is on top of the development so we will be looking over the rest like the kings that we are with the maximum privacy available to said development.

 

4. 2 Spring St – $2475

Within walking distance of the Deadwood nightlife, so is that worth the extra price?  Also walking distance makes me feel neighbors will be an issue even though the pictures give the illusion of privacy.

 

5. Pine Cone Lodge – $1527

This is the area we stayed for softball during the famous Quincy year.  Right next to the Terry Peak resort.  Taxi was available.  Has fooseball with what looks like dozens of board games, providing a wide variety of gambling options.  

6. 8 Bedroom house –  $2441

Maximum privacy of any place I’ve seen yet (ideal for our shenanigans) vs. 25 miles from Deadwood (not good for gambling purposes).  This one would likely result in needing to get groceries as we pass through Deadwood on the way to check in, with a DD (Quincy) forced to drive us in and out of town if we were to venture in.  7 single rooms is also a plus (league members get their own while non members share)
